Where you have cracked, chipped, stained or unstable concrete, it’s crucial to stabilize the damaged substrate for added security before resurfacing. This is achieved with the SEMCO Liquid Membrane, a wateproofing and anti-fracture membrane in one, designed to prepare a strong base before microcement application. When is it the right choice?

Resurfacing may be suitable when:

Complete concrete replacement isn't always necessary. Where an existing slab is structurally sound, resurfacing offers a practical alternative that avoids demolition while still delivering an entirely new aesthetic.

Rather than generating significant construction waste and extending renovation timelines, X-Bond Microcement creates a new decorative surface over the existing concrete at approximately 1/8 inch (3mm) thick.

For many renovation projects, this can reduce disruption while allowing designers and contractors to completely transform the appearance of existing concrete.

Note that before X-Bond Microcement is installed, the existing concrete should be assessed for movement, contamination, moisture issues and surface integrity. Depending on the condition of the substrate, preparation may include mechanical grinding, crack repairs, levelling, or the installation of our two-in-one reinforcement and waterproofing system where required.
