Sussex Street

Sussex Street needed to reflect modern beachside living while befitting the demands of a growing young family. Therefore, the designers sought low-maintenance materials that balanced a rustic coastal feel with contemporary luxury. It was also important that the space felt light-filled, warm, welcoming.

Summary

For flooring, concrete was a starting point — specifically polished concrete. However, a surface with less sheen was preferred to complement the other material selections; timber and brick. Also, any alternative needed to be available in a specific shade of light grey.

"X-Bond was the perfect solution for the required application. Our clients are both over the moon.

Anthony Mancini, Director at Mancini Made

SEMCO X-Bond Microcement was the architect’s solution to satisfying the requirements for a clean, concrete-look finish with a matte texture and light grey colour. Moreover, Director Anthony Mancini said that it met the need for a highly trafficable surface that was easy to clean. As the family at Sussex Street lives and grows in the space, their X-Bond floors will always look the same.
